AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER (ASD) CONSULTANT - CASCADE REGIONAL PROGRAM To support children with autism spectrum disorders in their educational settings by
providing coaching and consultation in evidence-based interventions,modeling effective instructional strategies,providing training for classroom teachers and other educators,providing appropriate evaluations to determine educational impact as assigned. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES The duties listed below are not inclusive, but characteristic of the type and level of work assigned for this position. Individual employees may perform all or some combination of the duties listed below as well as other related duties. Essential Functions: Assist the education team in the development of appropriate goals, objectives, modifications, adaptations, strategies, services and placements.-- Communicate clearly and relate effectively with children, families, school staff, colleagues and others.
Consult with school district and LBL staff members to provide communication, behavioral, classroom, visual, environmental and social supports.
Provide specialized information, in-service training, technical assistance and follow-up to staff and families.
Provide current information to staff and families regarding best practices for educating children with autism spectrum disorders, including positive behavioral supports for school, home, and community settings.
Facilitate access to local, state and national resources to meet child, family or staff needs.
Complete functional assessments, behavior plans and crisis protocols as necessary
Master's Degree in Special Education or equivalentValid Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) teaching license with Special Education: Generalist is required with ability to work with children birth to 21 years.At least five years of demonstrated successful experience teaching children with disabilities.Academic or professional training establishing an in-depth knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), current strategies and best instructional practices.Effective oral and written communication skills.Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the LBL Board of Directors/Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.-- Salary and Benefit information-- Licensed employees are represented by Linn Benton Lincoln Education Association.Salary and benefit information shown are based on full-time employment (1.0 FTE) based on the current school yearPlacement on the Linn Benton Lincoln ESD licensed salary schedule will be commensurate with applicant's qualifications, relevant training, and experienceLinn Benton Lincoln ESD will provide an Insurance CAP to assist with health, dental and vision insurance premiumsEmployer paid PERS, holidays, sick leave and personal days are also providedEmployer paid Life Insurance 1 x annual salaryEmployer paid Basic AD&D and Long Term Disability Health Insurance Oregon Educators Benefit Board (OEBB) provides insurance to school and education service district employees Includes medical, dental, vision & prescription insuranceMonthly premium deducted pre-taxLBLESD contributes a monthly CAP/Pool to help offset insurance costHealth Savings Accounts for high deductible plansFlexible Spending Accounts Retirement-- PERS - Public Employee Retirement SystemFor more information visit: state.or.usLBLESD pays the 6% employee contribution on behalf of each employee Sick Leave
