We are seeking a talented multi-disciplinary manufacturing engineer to define, implement, and continuously improve processes and be the manufacturing partner with design engineering, product deployment, and field application teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the design team to identify and incorporate manufacturability and assembly optimizations.
  • Design, implement and validate fixtures, equipment, and process controls to ensure stable manufacturing within fast development schedules.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate productivity and yield losses.
  • Advise on line layout, provide progressively improved efficiency, and reduced variability using lean methods.
  • Responsible for establishing the relationship between product design features & the selected methods required to manufacture the product, with a focus on those designs that require circuit board and electronic component assembly, electromechanical assemblies, mounting fixtures for sensors, etc.
  • Provide detailed assessments and critical Design For Manufacturing & Assembly (DFx) review of engineering designs/drawings of components and assemblies.
  • Assess the design intent, manufacturability, proper dimensioning, and tolerancing of components and assemblies to allow product to transition into the manufacturing environment.

Qualifications:

  • 7 +years of engineering experience required with BS, or 5 years with an advanced degree. (Mechanical or mechatronic strongly preferred.)
  • 5 + years of experience in a electromechanical manufacturing environment with responsibility for manufacturing process development, assembly yield, test fixture design, quality improvements, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Experience in the development or manufacturing of robotic devices or industrial automation systems preferred
  • Knowledge in the application of Design for Manufacturing (DFM), including industry-standard methodologies and experience in applying DFM to new product designs preferred
  • Use of process improvement techniques such as lean preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics is required
  • Experience writing and executing equipment and process validation tests
  • Experience working with an integrated new product development team
