Supervisor- Vancouver, WA Position Summary Direct and coordinate
the activities of the Finishing and Distribution Center to ensure
cost-effective operation. Warehouse management responsibilities
include the management of inventory, facility and equipment
maintenance and services, administration of company policies and
procedures, and supervision of all production and warehouse
personnel. The DC Operations Supervisor leads a team in a
unionized, multi?shift distribution center to safely and
efficiently receive, pick, pack, replenish, and ship customer
orders. This role manages daily execution, supports cross-shift
handoffs, and ensures consistency of operations across all shifts.
The Supervisor upholds the collective bargaining agreement (CBA)
while driving performance, engagement, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications 2–4 years of distribution/warehouse operations
experience, with 1–2 years leading in a unionized environment.
Experience coordinating or supervising multi?shift operations.
Knowledge of LMS platforms Strong documentation, communication, and
floor leadership skills. Proven ability to collaborate on a CBA
Requirements (seniority, OT protocols, progressive discipline).
Experience with multi?shift planning, shift?to?shift handoffs, and
cross-shift productivity alignment. Preferred Experience with JD
Edwards (JDE) ERP systems. Associate's/Bachelor's in Supply Chain,
Operations, or related field. Lean/CI experience (5S, Kaizen,
standard work). Duties & Responsibilities Safety Acts as a safety
leader and puts safety first by supporting overall employee safety,
fire protection, mobile equipment, housekeeping programs and
maintains safe working environment. Lead a safety-first culture ;
conduct start-of-shift briefings and enforce PPE and safety
policies. Coordinate safety expectations and follow-up actions
across all shifts to ensure continuity. Investigate incidents and
implement corrective actions with sustained improvement. Labor
Relations & CBA Collaboration Administer the CBA fairly and
consistently across shifts, including overtime protocols and
seniority-based regulations. Partner with HR on progressive
discipline and grievance resolution, ensuring documentation aligns
with contract language. Facilitate inter-departmental communication
regarding grievances, investigations, or labor issues. Quality
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase process
accuracy, reduce defects, and enhance operational consistency
across all distribution activities. Implement / promote
standardized work instructions and regularly audit compliance to
ensure adherence to quality and safety protocols. Collaborate with
cross?functional teams (Operations, Engineering, Procurement, and
Customer Service) to identify root causes of defects and develop
corrective and preventative actions (CAPA). Track, analyze, and
report key quality metrics (e.g., order accuracy, damage rates,
audit scores) to ensure performance meets or exceeds corporate
expectations. Champion a culture of quality by providing coaching
and training for frontline associates, supervisors, and new hires.
Oversee the investigation of customer complaints and quality
issues, ensuring timely resolution and communication of outcomes.
Validate that all quality-related documentation is accurate,
complete, and compliant with internal policies and external
regulatory requirements. Operational Execution Translate the daily
plan into staffing and workflow decisions across multi-shift
operations . Ensure smooth handoffs between shifts, including
work-in-progress, equipment readiness, and open tasks. Utilize
tools to monitor throughput, productivity, and quality. Adjust
headcount and task assignments based on volume, priority, and
shift?to?shift variability. Oversees staffing schedule assignments
to meet production and customer service requirements, while
monitoring production schedules in conjunction with productivity
constraints and overtime. Facilitates the activities of
subordinates and production employees through timely performance
appraisals and day-to-day interaction with department managers or
shift supervisors. Responsible for the completeness and accuracy of
all production records and reports initiated throughout the plant.
Leads the Daily Management System. People Leadership Provide clear
direction, on-the-floor coaching, and real-time feedback. Support
consistent performance and attendance management across shifts.
Lead onboarding, cross-training, and development of
union-represented associates. Conducts departmental shift meetings
regularly. Plans, coordinates, and leads quarterly plant-wide
communications meetings. Promotes and maintains high morale and
productivity of employees through fair and effective supervisory
practices. Evaluates job performance of all employees, disciplining
where necessary and providing verbal or written recognition for
significant accomplishments. Arranges for necessary time off when
justified, and counsels' employees on work activities and
attitudes. Facility Management and Business Acumen / Relationships
Understands and respects business confidentiality and sensitivity
where required through compartmentalization. Monitors all
production, waste, and quality metrics. Generates and validates
various reports necessary to ensure continuous quality and
productivity improvement are made to achieve stated goals within
the manufacturing operation. When necessary, drives departmental
improvement projects and Kaizen events as needed to meet the
identified goals. Responsible for overall inventory accuracy at the
facility. Facilitate doing cycle counting to ensure availability of
required inventories and to work through issues regarding the
replenishment of warehouse inventories. Coordinate and maintain all
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) / Warehouse Management System
(WMS) functionality. Establish positive working relationships with
other Finishing site leaders to work on projects as directed by the
senior leadership. Identify opportunities to implement process
changes to improve yields, reduce costs, improve runtime, reduce
downtime, and improve quality for all products. Translate high
level business KPIs into site level metrics to drive the desired
results in SQDIP. Partners with engineering department personnel to
establish or refine preventative and routine maintenance programs
as well as monitors daily production downtime issues to determine
root causes and reduce the risk of recurrence. Participates in the
Quality Management System and enforces policies and procedures to
maintain quality standards. Available on-call as a technical and
leadership resource to the plant during all hours of operation.
Enforces all company policies regarding performance and behavior
standards and operational procedures as defined by the standard
work instructions. Aligns with the Engineering Department to
identify and prioritize equipment improvement projects. Works with
Corporate Supply Chain Managers to develop the coater schedule and
optimize raw material purchasing to meet inventory and cash flow

communication skills. Contacts : Internal Has daily contact and
interaction with all subordinates to coordinate production
activities. Has frequent communications with Safety Manager,
Quality Manager, Technology Manager, Finance Manager, Logistics
Manager, and Subordinates on operational problems, efficiencies,
and process improvements. Has routine meetings and discussions with
the corporate partners regarding processing issues and product
specification concerns within all departments. Has frequent
communications with the engineering department regarding machine
issues, scheduling maintenance downtime, spare machine parts, etc.
Has routine interaction with the Human Resources Dept. on matters
regarding employee disciplinary measures, accident investigation
reports, new employee hiring, etc. Meets with Production Scheduling
personnel as needed to adjust machine operation scheduling to
improve production efficiency. External Contacts outside of the
plant are primarily with peers in the other Mactac facilities in
the form of knowledge sharing, consultation, and mentoring.
Communications may extend to customers, vendors, raw material
suppliers regarding the quality of incoming raw materials. Physical
Requirements: Facility: Some time is spent on the floor and the
remaining time is spent in an office setting. Hazards are those
normally associated with a Plant position and include noise levels
above 85 decibels, warm building temperature during mid-summer
months, rotating equipment, and machine parts. Personal and product
safety requirements for the plant include safety glasses, safety
shoes, and hairnets. Work Authorization: Legal authorization to

Travel: Occasional travel is required. 15 Percent for ERP Training
