at a glance: $1000 stay bonus- $250 at 30 days, $250 at 120 days,
and $500 at the one-year anniversary We are looking to bring a
full-time cook supervisor to our correctional facility kitchen team
in Bend, OR. As a cook supervisor, you will have the opportunity to
coordinate and supervise the work of employees to ensure efficiency
and adherence to established standards in a fast-paced, dynamic
environment. This is not your typical restaurant job. Our kitchens
are structured, consistent, and community-focused. You’ll help
prepare meals that keep operations in the jail running smoothly and
safely. Note: Applicants will be required to pass a background
check in accordance with any background check procedures required
by the correctional facility and applicable law. What you'll be
doing: Instructing and training employees in all aspects of food
service and sanitation, ensuring meal services begin on time, and
ensuring that portion, appearance and temperature for all food
items is appropriate and of high quality. Assist in preparing and
serving meals according to menus and dietary guidelines Maintain a
clean, safe, and secure kitchen environment Follow all food safety,
sanitation, and security procedures Work alongside kitchen staff,
correctional staff and inmate workers What we're looking for:
Must-haves: At least one years’ prior culinary experience in a
high-volume establishment with an emphasis on scratch cooking.
Complete knowledge of proper culinary methods, techniques and
standards. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to perform
multiple tasks at once. The ideal candidate must have high-level
product knowledge, provide friendly and helpful customer service
and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. The ideal
candidate must have experience supervising a team. Nice-to-haves:
Food Handlers certification preferred. Where you'll be working:
Deschutes County Corrections Compensation Range $24.00 per hour
