All candidates must take FireTEAM and have a valid NTN CPAT through National Testing Network (NTN). All testing must be completed prior to being considered for the applicant pool. High School Grad/GED: Yes Valid OREGON State Driver's License: Yes Ability to Read/Speak English: Yes Vision: Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color and peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus. College: Graduation from high school or GED equivalent. Associate's degree in fire suppression or emergency medical services is preferred. Necessary Certifications: Must have: 1. Current state of Oregon EMT-Basic certification or NREMT-Basic (National Registry EMTB). If candidate possess a NREMT certification, the candidates continued employment is contingent on ability to obtain Oregon EMT certification. If Oregon EMT-P reciprocity is anticipated, an associates degree shall be required. 2. Valid Candidate Physical Agility Test (CPAT) certification dated no earlier than August 1, 2015. Post Hiring: Ability to obtain by the end of the training period and/or maintain Oregon EMT-Basic medical standing order privileges from the Fire Department Medical Director; learn the operation of fire suppression and other emergency equipment; perform strenuous physical tasks under adverse environmental conditions; act effectively in emergency and stressful situations; and follow verbal and written instructions.
