Job Description:
The VA Portland Health Care System (VAPORHCS) in Portland,
Oregon is seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to join our
team as the Chief of Radiology/Imaging . The Chief will work
closely with the Imaging Administrative Officer and the Chief
Technologist to form the Imaging management team, responsible for
all operations of the service. This leadership team ensures the
highest quality Radiology services for Veterans, develops local
policy for efficient service delivery, formulates the budget, and
manages staff. Key performance areas include service, safety,
quality, access, innovation, and efficient care delivery. VAPORHCS
is a 1A complex tertiary care facility serving 95,000 Veterans
across northwest and central Oregon. Affiliated with Oregon Health
& Science University (OHSU), VAPORHCS annually hosts about 2,000
health professional learners and ranks in the top 10 nationwide
among VAs in research grant support, with over 170 investigators,
$41M in grant funding, and 500 active protocols. VAPORHCS is
renowned for its lung cancer screening, kidney, and liver
transplant programs. The Imaging Service provides comprehensive
services, including CT, MRI, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, nuclear
medicine with PET/SPECT CT, conventional x-rays, special
procedures, Interventional Radiology, and Neuroradiology, primarily
at the Portland campus. The Vancouver campus in Vancouver, WA
offers general x-ray, MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, and ultrasound
services. The Imaging Service is a national leader in integrating
cutting-edge equipment and procedures, such as early adoption of
Spectral CT, Digital PET CT, 4D CT Angio, and artificial
intelligence. We seek a physician leader with a strong clinical,
administrative, and academic background to oversee day-to-day
operations, maintain clinical activity, and collaborate on
educational and research initiatives with our academic partner. The
incumbent should demonstrate strong coordination abilities across a
broad continuum of programs and excel in interdisciplinary
teamwork. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated to promote
continuing research activities, inter-professional training, and
professional growth. Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday Must
be U.S. Citizen Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice
medicine or surgery in the U.S. Board Certification in Radiology
