Summary: Ref : M-RN-292698 Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Diabetes Foot Care Specialist/RN Job Type: Contract/Travel Start Date: ASAP Location: Albany, OR Shift Type: Days Rate: $1,184/20-hours Requirements: Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience as an RN, preferably with a focus on diabetes care and/or chronic disease management Certification as a Diabetes Educator (CDE/CDCES) Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) Prior patient education or teaching experience Experience with electronic health record systems Responsibilities: Conduct initial and annual diabetic foot assessments, including review of diabetes history and medications Assess foot structure, circulation, skin integrity, and nail condition; accurately document findings Provide routine foot care, including: Nail trimming and filing Reduction of thickened nails Management of calluses, corns, and ingrown nail portions (within scope of practice) Inspect and evaluate patient footwear for proper fit and safety Identify abnormalities or complications and refer patients to appropriate medical providers as needed Educate patients on proper foot care, prevention strategies, and available support resources Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support optimal patient outcomes 5 Benefits of Travel Nursing Advocating for patients becomes more nuanced when dealing with diverse populations.
