Open until filled. This is a Regular, year-round Classified
position, budgeted to work 8 hours/day. This position will begin

Purpose Statement : The job of "Paraprofessional" is done for the
purpose of facilitating student success in academic and
interpersonal skills through independently implementing District
approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student
progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs
of students; providing a safe and optimal learning environment, and
providing direct feedback to students, parents and administration
regarding student progress, expectations, goals, representing the
district as needed in special education meetings, etc. The Migrant
Education Academic Support Specialist serves as an advisor,
liaison, and facilitator for migrant students and families in
grades K–5. This role provides supplemental supports to address the
unique needs of migratory students, strengthen foundational skills,
and promote long-term academic success, while supporting the goals
of the HRCSD Migrant Education Program in alignment with Title I-C
requirements. Essential Job Duties : Outreach activities to involve
and support k-5 migrant students' families. Promote the goals of
the HRSDC Migrant Education Program, specifically in areas of
reading and math. Meeting regularly with HRCSD migrant learners
(k-5) on academic progress monitoring and individualized learning
opportunities. Support academic progress and provide mentorship to
k-5 students. Collaborate with school staff to ensure supports are
targeted and supplemental. Provide supplemental academic support in
literacy, language development, and math (not replacing core
instruction). Monitor student progress and support individualized
learning opportunities. Build strong relationships with students
and families to support engagement and attendance. Coordinate and
lead family outreach and engagement activities to increase access
to school and community resources. Partner with community
organizations to reduce barriers for migrant students and families.
Maintain documentation of services and outreach to meet Title I-C
compliance. Participate in after-school and evening events to
support family engagement. Establishes partnerships with community
organizations to create opportunities for our migrant learners and
families. Collaborate and plan outreach activities with HRCSD
Migrant Education Program staff. Completes monthly service logs to
record services provided. A flexible schedule will be needed for
after-school and evening events that promote graduation and
post-secondary options. Work effectively with and respond to people
from diverse cultures or backgrounds. Demonstrate professionalism
and appropriate judgment in behavior and speech. Maintains regular
and appropriate attendance and is on time for assignments for the
purpose of meeting the needs of the students and the expectations
of the district. Confer regularly with immediate supervisor. Follow
all district policies, work procedures and reasonable requests by
proper authority. Maintain the integrity of confidential
information relating to a student, family, colleague or district
patron. Develop job skills necessary to meet changes in the
position. Meet applicable district physical ability/health and
safety guidelines for the position. Other Job Functions : Assists
other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting
them in the completion of their work activities. Participates in
various meetings (e.g. parent conferences, in-service training,
site meetings, etc.) for the purpose of receiving, providing
information, and meeting credential requirements. Acts as a
home/school consultant with parents. Translates information between
Hispanic parents and school employees within the program. Promotes
the goals of the HRCSD Migrant Education Program. Develops
partnerships with community organizations to create opportunities
for our migrant learners and families. Minimum Qualifications :
Possession of an Associate's Degree/two years of college (72
college credits) or passing grade on CBEST or approved rigorous
knowledge test. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are required.
Excellent organizational skills. Strong public relations skills.
Strong computer skills. Valid driver's license. Demonstrated
ability to work cooperatively with district staff, students and
parents. Successful history of dealing with issues of a
confidential nature. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience
working in a Migrant Education Program, preferred. Testing
Required: Any offer of employment made by Hood River County School
District to an external candidate is contingent upon satisfactory

Substances Act, 21 U.S.C. 811 to 812. This includes, but is not

below is for the 2025-26 school year. Classified employees who pass
